Gambling Counselling Basingstoke England

Today's world brings many challenges that seem to weigh us down and prevent us from living the life we want. I believe that everyone has the potential to be the person they want to be; as an experienced therapist I am passionate about working alongside clients, often creatively, to allow them to find their own solutions to bring about long lasting change.
My therapeutic work uses a variety of theoretical models and techniques to suit the needs of the individual and has helped clients with stress, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and confidence, self-harm, suicidal ideation, bereavement and loss, and relationship issues.
During the current situation regarding Covid 19 I am offering sessions by telephone or via an online video platform.
I provide long and short term counselling depending on the needs of the client, based on mutually agreed goals and time frame. Longer term therapy, in particular, can be distressing but to work through long held thoughts in a supported environment can be healing and give resolution for the client. The integrative approach uses a variety of therapy models, aiming to best suit to the individual and presenting issue. As an accredited member of the National Counselling Society I adhere to its ethical framework.
I have extensive experience of working with Secondary age students in school. Most of my therapy work has been with young people aged 11-25 years old on a one to one basis, including some work with clients with autistic traits. I am currently working as a counsellor both in private practice and for a local youth organisation. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate and my details can be checked on the update service.
I have a particular interest in bereavement and loss and I work with a local charity supporting children as young as 4 who have experienced the loss of a close family relative.
A good working relationship is essential in counselling, so therefore, I provide a free 30 minute initial consultation, either by phone or face to face; to allow you to assess if counselling is right for you at this time and that you feel comfortable with me. It is important to consider carefully whether to go ahead and I will give you space to make your decision freely.
